Blog Number Six

There is one corporation that many do not think about that has a HUGE impact on not only America but on the world itself. That is the beer corporations. Most people have a certain beer that fits their individual taste. There are too many beer companies to even try and start to count. Beer slogans are seen all over, on billboards, t-shirts, television, game stadiums, etc. Beer is both a good and bad thing to have around. Beer is actually good for some parts of being healthy if drank in moderations. However beer is high in calories. Beer is not only good and bad for us but it defines us individually, like where we came from and our backgrounds. There are beers from different parts of the world. For example Fosters is a beer from Australia, Mother Ship is an organic beer from Germany (which i do not advise anyone to EVER try), and of course there are varieties of American beer such as Budweiser (my favorite) and Bud Light. Many people drink beer according to their background and where they were raised around. Germans like dark beer and most German beer is dark beer. Beer is also associated with some religions like Catholicism, and Judaism which are the most common. Beer companies are associated with annual things like the Super bowl where Budweiser and Bud light commercials are expected every year. The negative aspect on beer is that if not drank with responsibility there can be consequences. Some of these consequences consist of alcohol poisoning, damaged liver, wrecking a motorized vehicle, and even death. My main point here is that beer can explain a lot about a person. Like where were from, and how we were raised. Beer can say many things about a person everything from our background to our religion. What’s your beer?

  1. Dear Cody,

I never thought about beer in the way that you did. When you put it like that, beer really does tell you some significant things about a person. Yes, it’s not always true for everyone, but everyone I know in the Arkansas area likes Bud Lite or Budweiser. I have also been to Germany, and the beer of choice there is dark beer. Beer can tell you what origin they are from.

When you said, “The negative aspect on beer is that if not drank with responsibility there can be consequences. Some of these consequences consist of alcohol poisoning, damaged liver, wrecking a motorized vehicle, and even death.”, it showed that you were willing to accept the reality of beer as well. I have had friends that have died from drunk drivers, and I had a classmate from high school who has permanent brain damage because she was riding on a 4-wheeler with a drunk friend that was driving. I am glad that you brought this to people’s attention. It is very serious.

About the statement, “Beer is also associated with some religions like Catholicism…”, I don’t agree with. I might be wrong, but the last time I checked, it was wine that they use during mass not beer. Catholicism does indeed allow drinking, but they are focused more on wine.

I love the topic you picked. Even if people that don’t drink beer read this, they are still hooked. Who doesn’t like to talk about alcohol. Thank you for choosing a well liked topic. I will be back to read more.

  2. Dear Ironsights62 at 7:39 p.m.,

As a beer lover I really enjoyed what you had to say about brew. I do not care what people say about sweet tea or lemonade, beer is the American drink.

"Beer is actually good for some parts of being healthy if drank in moderations." I liked this quote. It stood out and almost hinted at saying, be mature and drink in moderation you jack. Brilliant!

"However beer is high in calories." I agree with you, beer is high in calories. Brilliant!

Thank you for the post my man. I have been waiting for a good beer blog and knew I could not pull it off as good as you did. Brilliant!
