VACATIONS!! Who doesn’t like to go on a vacation? All kinds of places with all sorts of things to do. Seems great to get out and experience these rare pleasures of relaxation, fun, and excitement. What most do not realize is that all of these vacation spots like to take advantage of us tourist. When we visit these places the rental rates are outrages, souvenirs are almost unbelievable and lets not mention food and gas. Think about it. If you have ever been on vacation then you know that all these things are price gouged. This almost takes away from the simple reasons that we even go on vacation in the first place. Some ways to save some money when going on vacation are to plan your trip plenty of time ahead. By doing this you can have room for error if you just so happen to run into a problem with booking, which brings me to my next tip. Booking your trip with a website such as Orbitz, Kayake, and Expedia will help to find some of the best places to stay at with the lowest rates in order to save you money. Money you could spend on something on the trip while you’re there. Another tip that will help you out is to plan your how many miles round trip you will be traveling, if you will be driving. This will give you a ballpark estimate on how much you will be spending there and back in gas. This is so you don’t over spend while you are on vacation and can make it home with no troubles such as running out of gas. Vacations are always great, just be sure know what your limits are and plan everything out.

ReplyDeleteDear Cody,
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more about the price gouging that goes on at tourists attractions. Companies know they can take advantages of customers who are willing to spend whatever so they can have a relaxing time. I agree when you said, "this almost takes away from the simple reasons we go on vactions in the first place". High prices cause the stress we are trying to get away from. I also agree by booking a trip with a website such as Orbitz, Kayake, and Expedia will save money. I have done this a number of times and it has cut costs tremendously. Thanks for sharing this. These were good ideas to fight price gouging.

Dear Cody,
ReplyDeleteI actually experienced the planning ahead thing first hand. Thankfully we decided to go ahead and book a hotel, because we found out that if we had booked it any later then it would've been at least $100 more. So, this post was a good way to let everyone know about that.
When you talked about vacation spots taking advantage of tourists, I was like "Finally someone else realizes this!" I mean I'm sure many people realize places are overpriced, but they never ask by how much? I went to Disney World a couple of years ago, and spent $25 on mouse ears. Yeah, it was ridiculous!
The adding up of round-trip miles was a good idea as well. This, I have come to realize, is becoming a major problem with car trips.
Thank you for posting this! It was a really good one to read.

Dear Cody,
ReplyDeleteI love the subject. Going on vacation can really cost a lot of money. Sometimes just worrying about how much you're spending can stress you out, when all you want to do it relax!
Prices are so easily raised just because everyone loves vacation. You just need to get away every once in a while. Areas take advantage of the beautiful places they live in by charging as much as they possibly can for products.
The tips are very helpful! I think planning is very essential to a relaxing vacation. I will definitely use these tips when planning my next get away.
Thank you for your post.

Dear Blogger,
ReplyDeleteI completely agreed with what you had to say about corporations in this particular blog. I have read all your other blogs, and this one stood out to me because of the truth inside of it. The statistics you through out there were magnificent. I will for sure keep coming back to read what else you have to say about corporations. You Rock!!
